- Summary
- Charles "Chick" Benetto once played in the World Series but now he's an aging salesman who feels guilty for not being there when his mother died a decade earlier. He's divorced, an alcoholic, and suicidal. But a funny thing happens after Chick tries to kill himself: he survives and is a changed man -- for one thing, his mother seems to be alive. Chick realizes he has a chance to spend one last day with his mother, to get to know her, and love her the way he never did when she was alive. -- Description by Dawn Towery
